Catching Up
Okay so sorry this is a week later but oh well I was like super super busy.
Sunday 10/27
Was a great day and we visited lots of members so they can get to know Elder Caoile. Not a lot of people there though because of the 30 year anniversary of the Church being in Cambodia so everyone was in Phnom Penh for the celebration. So it was a little sad.
Monday 10/28
We played volley for like 5 hours so that was awesome. I could play all day haha. But everyone else gets tired and lazy after a while and no one wants to play spike ball. It's really sad cause we only get one pday a week and they all just want to sit around. So lame
Tuesday 10/29
We had district council and then were super productive and visited a ton of people. Super fun too.
Wednesday 10/30
So I personally love the days where we start it off with a service project. It was super hot cause we were gathering and then burning a bunch of brush. Barely looked like we did anything but he was so thankful and we are coming back next week to do more. I think he's starting to finally realize how much we love him. And he's coming to church the whole time as well so that's amazing too!
Thursday 10/31
So today our very last lesson we had we finally met this ming and her daughter that I was trying to meet the whole last transfer. They're so nice and we had Ty Ty with us, he's an amazing asset for us. Their dad though was smoking and drinking while Ty Ty was sharing about his conversion story about stopping drinking and smoking. And then the pu told us to leave his house. He was pretty angry. But the mom and daughter said we could pray with them before we left. So we did and I was the one who prayed. I gave the longest prayer I could but towards the end the pu started counting like something was gonna happen if we didn't leave soon so then I ended my prayer, hahaha. But the daughter and ming came to church Sunday and the daughter already wants to get baptized which is crazy. They also love Ty Ty so much, he's awesome.
Friday 11/1
We had Ty Ty help us again today which was awesome but it's also hard because I get even less time to try to talk and practice my Khmer cause there's not a bunch of openings and I don't want to chase the spirit away by interrupting my comp or Ty Ty cause they say some really good things. I think I at least can't understand like 50 percent of the time.
Saturday 11/2
Hahaha in my journal I just wrote tomada which means just normal.
Sunday 11/3
I started my fast like Saturday afternoon because Ming Mich wanted to feed us lunch half way through the day on Sunday. But first this morning we met another person that might want to learn and helped them cut wood. Super sick. Then we went to Ming Mich's house and I cut the banana heart flower thingy, then we ate food. Which like I said wasn't a steak cooked by my Dad but also it wasn't bad at all. Super good for Khmer food. Really all Khmer food is good if it's cooked and seasoned righttt. Oh and Ty Ty was there and I out Khmered him after he was teasing me all three days before for being white. Like I said barrang means French person and they are mean here so I hate being called a Frenchy but cause I'm white I'm French in their eyes. Anyway so he was calling me barrang the whole time but I ate spicy food and didn't cry and he did. And I ate the bro-hut which is like fish mush with salt that sits out for many days. Anyway tbh it wasn't that bad, with some rice it was even good to me. Anyway so then I started calling him barrang and telling Ming Mich I'm more Khmer than Ty Ty. Cause I'm also darker as well. At least my arms. Also we had like 40 more people at sacrament than what we usually do. Which was amazingggg made me so happyyyyy!!!!!
Monday we just played volley again and I got that super cool shirttt
Okay anyway love you alll
