Flooding and Moving Day

 Monday

We played volley again😆and I bought that super lit shirt, that's it. Wait no there's more I just remembered. We had FHE again and the food this time was 100 times better. I feastedddd. Like you saw I ate the quagulated chick blood which wasn't bad. Then we went to mixue and got like 50 cent ice cream cones which was sick.

ONE-THIRTY IN THE MORNING on Tuesday

so first it started raining hard Monday night. Then fast forward to 11:00pm I finally fell asleep. Then I'm a little uncomfortable so I shift and snuggle into my blankie, just to have the wet corner of it slap me in the face. (Imma put my thought dialog in here for yall, hopefully it makes it more interesting) "what the heck, why's my blankie wetttt???" With squinty eyes I then feel around my bed. MY HAND GETS ENGULFED WITH WATER! not really only my finger tips. But yeah so I grab my phone which is also on the floor so it was soaked a little. . . okay pause I think imma have a voice recording attached because this'll take way too long to type.

Anyway so then Tuesday morning we had district council and then moved to our new apartment which is like a hotel basically. We're on the 6th floor so that's neat. It's really nice but it is a lot smaller which isn't the funnest but it's all good. We got king size beds so I'm not complaining. It was fun moving haha there was lots of redneck stuff happening hahaha. We moved all our dressers and tables by tieing thme to the side of passapp. Just with some rope😆super not safe but luckily it was only a mile away.

Wednesday

We had a zoom meeting with one of the 70 so that was sick. Here's some of the stuff we learned or were reminded of:

-Learn and teach by the spirit. The teacher can only bring the spirit to your heart, you have to open it and let Him in.

-don't pray and then sit there and wait for things to happen, you need to do everything you can, He will magnify your efforts!

-We need to figure out our "weapons of war" and "burry them"

-Weak things may become strong when you work on the with Christ's help.

-Think of your favorite sin and then give it up/put it on the altar of God.

Okay later this day we met a young single mom and her friend and it's super sad because everywhere we go we find more and more people whose husbands are dead. Satan is really trying to keep the power of the priesthood low here. Most men are either a slave to alcohol and smoking, or have died of illness and motorcycle crashes. Super sad!

Thursday

We started the day off strong with a big service project for our recent convert ming palla. Elder Caoile and I arrived an hour later than Elder Sorensen and Elder Pedra and they had already started cutting all the grass out, but when we got there I just started ripping it out with my hands cause it was actually pretty easy. It was like vines and it was super marshy as well so they came right up. Super funny though cause they just watched me do it basically for the rest of the time we were there. . . which you can see in the video😆anyway now that I think about it, it's prolly not the safest cause we found a viper snake and there's massive centipedes in there. Like the size of a cat's tail and they're pretty venomous so yeah not the greatest. But taht was after I ripped them all out. So I walked away alive ✅Anyway then we had zone conference with Elder Teh. We started it out with a big feast thanks to Elder Hunt. All Khmer food too! The lunch for like 20-30 people was only 120 bucks, which is super lit.

Here's my spiritual thoughts about this day;

-Jesus Christ has given us everything we need to be successful, just use the tools.

-The gift of tongues is more than just knowing the language, it is the spirit you bring that will speak to their hearts

-Don't be stubborn like a goat, move to the light in dark places like a sheep

-IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU super good reminder

-The only person you should strive to be exactly like is Jesus Christ. He will help you develop your own personal way of teaching the Gospel

-The amount of the spirit you carry is they most important thing to worry about as a missionary. Everything else will fall into place

-Everything we do now is preparing us for the life to come after death!!! This life prepares us for eternityyyy

Friday

Pretty normal, we had another zoom this morning and then we went and taught as a trio because Elder Sorensen's comp is a zone leader and he had meetings in Phnom Penh.

Saturday

The same as Friday, we were still in a trio which is fun but also hard as well.

Sunday

Today was hard because I had to teach second hour but it's so so difficult. It was pretty rough. The only good thing that comes out of those situations is that it seems my fears of talking in front of people in English go away. I think to myself, why was I ever scared to speak my own language???? Like I know English pretty well so why was I scared? Idk but I'm not scared anymore. At least I think so, the language here is just super hard. Elder Chong who learned Chinese and Khmer before he came out on his mission said that Khmer is hard because there's way less resources, so yeah. Still though no excuses I just got keep chugging along😊

Welllll that's all for this week, thanks for reading and join my Google Photos if you want!

So refreshing to be the teacher, not the student, haha
