Cambodia Did Me In

Sorry for the lack of email last week, this week and last week have been interesting. Little bit hard and super crazy. Let's get into it. Last last week-okay last week was interesting haha. Someday we don't get out as much as I want to so that can be frustrating, cause I don't feel like we're doing as much as we could be. And I just had a hard time being patient with people around me as well. But we were able to have such an amazing lesson with this one bong.  I love her and her family so much. She has a special needs kid and they're so very poor. My heart is always so tender to them. During the lesson, I was able to share why we have so many challenges in this life and how all of them, if we choose, can be for our good. I also think I've shared this before but I'm trying to listen to every general conference talk ever recorded and man that's been such a blesing. They just speak straight facts all the time and it's been amazing to put a couple of re...

Disrupting Stereotypes

Ooooo so I said I was gonna do a better job at journaling butttttttt that didn't happen hahahaha. Life is just crazy as a missionary😆because I get about 4 hours a day of free time, and it seems 2 of those hours is daily planning trying to workout with cement weights, cooking breakfast and getting ready for the entire day. So not much left for free time haha. And then at night we get back at 8:00-8:30 and then need to be asleep by 10:00. And you have to cook dinner and eat and shower in that time as well. So let's just say if you're not efficient in what you do you just don't get any free time. Or things get sacrificed like journaling😅 Soooo anywaysss let's get started We actually set up a class for members who want to learn extra English on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday which is super fun because we read The Book of Mormon in English and then I help them understand the scripture as well, which is super lit! This week we ate a lot with members too which is alway...

Surviving? Nah, I'm Thriving!

Hahahahah, hello guys! Just so you know I am alive and I did in fact survive the holidays. First Christmas without my family and in a place that doesn't really celebrate was hard. Although, maybe not too hard in some ways. It didn't really feel like Christmas season. No snow, no Santa, no lights strung up across the road and town, no break from school or in this case missionary work. Anyway, you get the drift, SUPER different. The hardest part of it all was when I was sitting in Papa John's and across the street they were bumping to some Christmas song remixes. Super hype, and there was a Santa over there at that time. And it was way harder than just living without any of it. But I survived. Not only that, I actually thrived! I made 2 batches of pumpkin cookies, twice. One for my district when we had our p-day gift exchange and the other time I packaged them up and gave them to all members and inactive members and our teaching friends! That was the day before Christmas we ...
