Samurai Slayer

Wow wow wow what a week! If you're wondering about the title, don't worry I let you know towards the end😆

Just an absolutely crazy week and honestly transfer. This last week was transfer week and wow so many emotions. Every transfer I get sad because they just go by way too fast, and I see the missionaries goin home and it makes me sad tbh. Don't get me wrong, I miss my family probably more than most people here but the mission is just an outstanding and love-filled experience. I've never been closer to God than I am right now and it is the most amazing experience ever! So I get sad because I'm closer and closer to ending😔

Also, I don't like goodbyes. This last transfer, my comp and I worked so hard and saw so many miracles and now he's gone to my old stomping ground, stung mean chey Phnom Penh. Super crazy, but anyway no worries we'll continue to do great things here with my new comp.

To explain how busy I was this last week let's just say two of the days we didn't have time for most of our studies! Which isn't good but we just had so many lessons. Anyway, I'm super grateful for Elder Olsen, my old comp, because he showed me how to be a more dedicated missionary.

Anyway I'm typing this on the way back to Sihanoukville because it's a 3 hour drive and I have nothing else to do haha, so what a good opportunity to get a good weekly in this week. My new comp is half Khmer and half Chinese and grew up in California. For those with a super human memory, you might recognize his name because I've talked about him before. His name is ELDER CHONG!!!! One of my two MTC companions!!! Anyway, he's super smart with languages. Fluent Chinese in both dialects, Khmer and ofc English. So right there that's 4 languages he's fluent in. For the ones he only knows a bit are French, Japanese, Korean, and maybe one more I don't know about. Anyway, what a beast! When asked what he wants to do for a job, he says "I want to research."

Hahaha anyway, where I am right now is kind of a dangerous spot for people who know Chinese and English as well as he does. There's lots of human trafficking and illegal jobs and casinos. There's, like I've said, many sky scrapers abandoned and some are places where Chinese do illegal jobs. Anyway, the triad, I believe is here as well and kidnaps people who can speak Chinese and English. So basically I'm going to have to be a "samurai slayer" boom that the reason I've been practicing my boxing. I'm ready. On a real note though the Lord is our true protector. I often think of the prophet and his story that he told last year during general conference about being held at gun point.

GUYS THE GUY PULLED THE TRIGGER but it wasn't time for President Nelson to go so the gun didn't fire!!! What a miracle, him and his wife lived to tell of that miracle. I know Elder Chong and I are in the Lord's hands so as we use our God given common sense and listen to the spirit, only God's plan can go forth! I think I can honestly say I feel just as safe in Sihanoukville as I do in Cashmere.

(I was gonna write more but I ran out of time)

Love Elder Acton
