Wow Time Flies

Wow guys, I can't believe how time just flies by! I can't remember when the last time I did a weekly was, but I'll try to give you some highlights.

In the middle of April was Khmer New Year and for three days it was like a massive water gun fight! Super fun and lit. They also throw baby powder on you. Super fun. . . .unless you're a missionary and you're not in Cambodia to party😆 All our lessons fell through and no one wanted to meet us for like a week and a half. Either they were in their hometown or they were busy partying or they were just busy. Super bummy. It was also the first week of the transfer so all the responsibilities got passed on to me and it's only my second transfer in a very new area. When I say new,  I mean the church has only been here for one year. Anyways, so a lot is on our shoulders as missionaries. And me and Elder Chong are the oldest missionaries here in this area that's 3 hours away from the mission office and everyone else. hahaha So sometimes it's stressful. We're having a blast though.

I will say, if you're wanting to help a missionary, and his teaching friends, out please pray for mine🙏they all have their own problems and the biggest thing that I wish they understood better was how much the Savior suffered for each and every one of them so they can understand how much love He has for them. Then they will want to show their love for Him back, through following what he teaches! Anyway, they just need to feel the love of Christ over here and realize they are sons and daughter of God!

I will say I'm better at sharing stories through pictures so check those ones out! Also sometimes I feel like a vigilante-we took down many inappropriate ads off tuk tuks and street poles! So you could call me batman if you want. Keeping this city safe one ripped down picture at a time. Or rather making this city holier one ripped down picture at a time!

Anyways, sorry this email is kinda all over the place! Just know that I'm loving this area but it also kicks my butt. Definitely learning how to be more mentally tough and rely on the spirit like 100%, which looks like me just doing what I think is best and then praying to Heavenly Father that He can pick up the pieces of my mistakes.

If you also wonder about the weather over here, I got you. Super hot, then not, then super hot, then not. Storms roll in and you get rained on and then the wind blows and 80 degrees becomes cold enough to make me shiver😆and then the next hour I'm sweating tons cause of the humidity and the sun comes out again. Then it rains again and the loudest thunder I'ver ever heard shakes my bones. Literally the lightning here is almost daily and the sound in some storms is enough to shake your bones to the core. Unfortunately, a guy in the town nearby was killed by lightning the other day, so that's no buenos. On that note, did you know he's in the spirit world right now learning of Jesus Christ? So are your ancestors! And guess what?? They need your help to get baptized, so go to the temple and give them the best gift they can ever receive(baptisms for the dead).

Anyways, love you guys! Go spend time in the temple for me since I'm not able to right now.

Love all of you so much and I hope yall have the bestest week!

  1. Elder Acton!! We love reading your letters! You are such a positive force for good in it seems like whatever situation comes your way! Your cheerful attitude makes me smile and I'm sure that's exactly how your smile affects everyone around you. Your experiences are so unique in Cambodia and you handle every situation so well! Know that we love you and your example moves us to be better disciples of Christ here where we are. Keep smiling--you for sure are blessings many lives where you are right now. Love and hugs to you.
