Weak Flesh
This last week can be summed up with the phrase found in Matthew 26:41; "the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
On Monday, I was feeling overly tired so we had more of a chill p-day. That evening I had a temperature of 102 and went to bed. When I woke up Tuesday morning I still had a temperature of 100 but I tried to push through and went to District Council. I felt pretty crappy. Afterwards, I came back home and checked my temperature later and it was 103. We just stayed home for the rest of the evening. Wednesday I woke up and was filling all right but still had a fever so I went to the hospital to get checked out. They did some blood work but weren't able to find out why I was having a fever and sent me back home. We went back to the apartment so I could rest for a bit and then we visited some people that are on date for baptism next week, the 28th. Anyway, after that we came home and I was feeling but still had a fever of 101. That night I had the cold sweats. Thursday I had an interview with my mission President and his wife, President and Sister Hoare. It went really good, we talked about some really good things. After that, my comp and I went and put our bikes in the shop and then went and visited another kid that is on baptismal date, trying to help get him ready. Then later that day I had some rest but was starting to hurt really bad. At 3, I took my temperature and it was 103, and I was like "Oh boy, let me take some Tylenol and if in an hour I'm not feeling better then I can't do any more stuff and will have to just stay home for the rest of the day." I was expecting my temperature to go down a little bit. Anyway, after an hour and a half I took my temperature and I was at 104.0 and that was pretty high. I was like, "this sucks." I was also feeling pretty bad, my whole body was just aching. So, I went to the hospital again and they kept me overnight and gave me an IV and ended up giving me some antibiotics. I started feeling better ever since they gave me the antibiotics. The next morning I still had a temperature and a bit of a headache but from then on I didn't have a fever. I stayed the whole day in the hospital with my comp where I watched "The Restoration", I watched "Ephraim's Rescue", and then I watched almost 10 hours of Book of Mormon Videos, it's 9 hours and 40 minutes. We watched them in chronological order, it was super fun. Anyway, there was some really good food there at the hospital. It was a super nice hospital, it was like America, or maybe even better. Then the kept me that night again and the next morning they did some more tests and everything like that. They still didn't know what was wrong with me other than it was some sort of bad bacterial infection but they didn't know what type. Anyways, later that day, Saturday around noon, I was able to get out of the hospital and then we went and got our bikes out of the shop and went back home. We baked a bunch of cookies and baked some chickens. That night we went and visited rany and her younger sister who are going to be getting baptized and then came back home and cooked some more cookies. Sunday morning we went to church, and that was great, we ate lunch with the senior missionary couple. After that we went and made a dish that has the banana leaves and rice, pork, and beans inside. We helped make that and then came home and I rested for a little bit and we made some more cookies. Then we went back to visit rany and her sister because we are trying to help get them ready for their baptism on the 28th. They had their baptismal interviews that night. Then today, we were just getting ready for activities that started at 5. It was so fun, we sang karoke, ate delicious food. I baked about 100+ cookies and baked chicken and brought gravy and some chips. We had the other Elders bring some potatoes. And I also made a bunch of rolls and the sister missionaries made boba, which is a rice porridge and the senior couple brought spaghetti. So, it was great. We had a great time and there was a lot of good food, and everybody liked the food too so that was awesome. They all said I did a great job on the food I made so that was fun. Afterwards, we cleaned up and sang karoke and played card games.
Anyways, that was my week. Not a lot of stuff happened because I was sick.
Oh, the reason we had activities was for the holiday Pshum bun, it's where everyone goes back to their home town. There were a couple people who didn't so we invited them to the church to eat and it was super fun! A super great time!!
Anyways, thank you so much for all the prayers that were said for me, I could definitely feel them!
Love you all!!
