Living the Missionary Life: stitches, rats, and miracles!

Monday night, my comp took a spill on his bike. He was turning a corner and there was some wet sand and rocks on the road and it didn't work out very well. We were trying to get home quickly and he was riding so fast that he didn't have time to put his hands out and save himself. His face went straight into the ground. So, we had to go to the hospital that night. Right after it happened, I sat "criss cross applesauce" and took care of him like Florence Nightengale and then we went to the hospital. We were there until 12:30, we got home at 1:00 and then we had to make dinner because we hadn't had any dinner yet. So, we ate dinner at 1:30-anyways it was a super crazy day.

Then later that week one of our friends, Srey Neang (the young girl with special needs) got lost. She was lost from the 1st of October all the way to the 4th of October. On the 1st of October we searched for 2 1/2 hours at night for her, so that was pretty crazy. It was really big miracle that she was found because there is a lot of human trafficking in this area, and she was found 7 miles from her home-which is a long way for a young girl with special needs.

Another miracle was we had a made a goal for this 6 week transfer to get 80 new teaching friends AND this first week we already have 39!! We felt like that was a huge miracle. We have a pretty high goal for baptisms this year and we are behind on it, so we have been praying for miracles. AND they have been happening, miracles have been happening and it is super amazing to witness the Lord's hand.

I also had the chain on my bike break AGAIN!!

Let's see, what else. We have been having lots of service. We cleaned Bong Kolra's house which was a BIG job! There were 30 mice and an inch of caked mice poop and pee. We had already cleaned most of the big stuff days before but just cleaning up after the mice took us almost 6 hours.  We swept it so many times and then scrubbed it with these hard plastic bristle brushes that are used to scrub clothes here because we don't have washing machines, well I guess some people have washing machines. Anyways, we scrubbed the floor a ton. And we bought masks because it was so nasty, even though he moved all the rats aways we still saw like 5 rats scurrying around.

That was basically our week. Oh, we got a new bishopric and this bishop really likes to do stuff so lots of good things are going to happen. I think there will be a lot of progression.

Oh, and one of our recent converts had a birthday and we brought the party. We bought a cake and bought some party celebration poppers. It was a lot of fun!

Love you all!!

P.S. Look for miracles because God's hand is always in the details of our lives!
