A Miracle and Splitting Pouchentong
I ran out of time today so this will just be a quick little update.
Tuesday was kind of normal, that's our planning day because we usually go and teach lessons in the evenings on Monday. Most other missionaries here do their planning on Monday evenings but I don't like wasting night time because it is such a busy time for lessons, so we plan during the day on Tuesday when it's more of the open free time. Also Tuesday there was a party where a lot of our ward members went to the Kom buc sao, but we weren't allowed to go as missionaries so we had a little dinner party with those who weren't able to go either. It was just like 5 people; a family and then one of our other teaching friends. We sang some songs with them after dinner.
Wednesday I did an exchange with Elder Madrid, who is our District Leader, in Kam Boul and that was fun, it was really good. We cooked some food at a member's house who is inactive whose husband is like 40 years older than her so that is kind of interesting. But anyway, then we biked around and helped Um Thida move. Also we rode in the car with the Duffins, a Senior couple, and had a lesson with them. It was really nice being with them and felt good to be with someone in addition to just a companion. We got to translate for them which was fun and which stretched my language skills. It was a really good day, we were busy all the way up to night time. We met, well everyone else knew him but I just met him since I was the one on the exchange, this super lit guy. He is super elect.
Thursday I went back to my area and we just had a regular day of cramming in a lot of lessons. It was super good.
Friday was transfer day so we picked up Elder Say, Elder Adams' new companion and were there at the church for a while and ate lunch, got Elder Say settled in and then went to English class. (Since there were so many new Elders coming this transfer, President split our area in two. Elder Adams will be taking one area with Elder Say and I will be taking the other area with one of the incoming new Elders. President made Elder Adams a District Leader and I'm a Zone Leader. Lots of changes.) We ate at an all you can eat buffet, which was really awesome. We ate A LOT of meat, we ate for an hour and a half and the buffet was only $8.
Saturday, I went on another exchange with Elder Rabe, my dad, my trainer, my first companion on the mission in Cambodia because his companion had to go to Thailand to renew his visa and my Ghon, my kid, my trainee, my new companion isn't coming until Thursday. I was with him for a day and half which was really fun! It was so awesome. So that was for Saturday and Sunday. And then Sunday was just super busy!! Super duper crazy. But a miracle is that one of the people that we have serve a TON the last 4 1/2 months that I've been in Pouchentong finally wants to learn, which is a HUGE miracle because she would not even sit in prayers really, she would just keep doing what she was doing and ignore us but it is a super big miracle that she wants to start learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So that's awesome, but it is a little bit sad because it's not in the part of the area that I will be in this transfer. It was kind of funny because she said that she didn't want to learn if it was going to be with a different Elder than me, so whoops, my bad I guess I converted her to me instead of the Lord! But she is still a work in progress so anyway, and I don't think that's true. There's the new Elder, Elder Say and he is really good and Khmer so I'm sure she will warm up. And there is a family of 7 that are new teaching friends, that I love, they're awesome. I've only taught them twice but already the kids have been wanting to sit right next to me which I love.
Monday we played some bad mitton and before that we ate lunch at a part member family's house, the wife is the one that is the miracle I just mentioned. After playing bad mitton I had a meeting as Zone Leader; Mission Leadership Council (MLC).
Love you all so much and hope you have a great week!
