My Kon Has Arrived
Okay, wassupp family and friends! I hope you all are doing as well as I am doing, because man life is good.
Don't get me wrong, the law of opposition is just as strong, as you could see with the coconut experience, and then just today with me spraining my ankle a tiny bit during basketball. I don't know if it's satan trying to get me unfocused from the work, or the Lord giving me little trials to remind me that one, I'm mortal and two, to learn patience. Either way the Lord can make all unfortunate experiences into growing opportunities if we let Him. So, when those things happen I'm trying really hard not to complain but to rather look at the situation and learn, lol.
Okay so things were pretty neat Tuesday and Wednesday being in a trio with Elder Say and Elder Adams in part of my area from last transfer. It was fun, Elder Say likes to have a good time so there was lots of laughter on the way. Wednesday night though is when the AP's picked me up and us three went to the airport, which is like a 45 minute car drive, starting at 9:45 and not returning till almost 1:30 that night. It was a fun adventure especially with all the cool decorations for the water festival that happened just about a week and a half ago now.
Thursday was kind of a slower day. We got my kon (child/trainee) all orientated and got his bike as well, then went and ate Indian food for lunch. Then just went home and got him all unpacked and settled. After which we went to a lesson or two, which poor guy, Elder Blackburn (my new comp) was so tired.
Friday was a pretty full day. We went and did service at the lotus farm again which was super fun and oh yeah, I've started teaching the skinny lok pu (uncle) there which is super cool cause he's just a unit-61 with a six pack, if not 8 pack, mainly just cause he's skinny though. He's got shot once or twice too, actually from the Khmer Rouge. Anyways, afterwards we were again packed with lessons as always.
Saturday
We biked far into the city like 10 kilometers to meet one of our nek reans(teaching friends) who lives in Pochentong but works all the way over by independence monument and koh pich. So that was kind of fun to bike through the city out of our area a long ways (approved by pres. of course). We ate a lot of food that day because we had a member meal for lunch and dinner and they both fed us SO MUCH. Super awesome! Also, we did some contacting (some of the first I've done ever, believe it or not) and the first guy we talked to said he wanted to learn more, so that was lit!
Sunday
Stressful, as always, but also just really good and when we went to go teach the guy who wanted to learn more his wife sat in on the lesson and seemed pretty interested as well, which was super lit! So hopefully they continue to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Monday
Played basketball, good enough that the Chinese owner wants us to come back and play his Chinese team on Wednesday so they can practice for a tournament coming up, haha. Pretty fun! Also, being ZL (zone leader) is fun. Planning Zone Conference is fun and Simo (my history teacher in high school) got me all ready with all the presentations we did.
Anyways, I love all of you and hope everyone has a wonderful week filled with the love of the Savior!
Love Elder Acton
