Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! So grateful for all of you who read and comment on here. Makes me feel special!!

Tuesday

Regular Tuesday where we had District Council and talked about all the things going on in our areas and how we can help each other. Went and ate food at a member's house that always makes the most scrumptious stuff. . .but I don't think a lot of you would think that haha. It's pretty weird food that most times I don't quite know what it is but I'm continuing to grow my vocab so I'm getting better at knowing what exactly I am eating.

Actually I don't really want to do the day by day weekly this time haha, imma just tell you about some of our teaching friends.

Bong Heng:

He is a guy prolly around 30 years old and he loves the bible. . . but in cartoon anime form haha. We have been teaching him probably two weeks now and he is really progressing. he said when he gets enough money he wants to go back to his home town and build his own church. We just smiled and told him how great of a heart that he has for that desire. Some things we just don't correct at the start haha. As he learns, he'll learn that God's house is a house of order. We are so happy after teaching him though cause he is so enthusiastic about learning more about Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation and Joseph Smith and everything that the Restored Church has to offer. I think that very soon, if not this week, we will put him on date for a couple weeks from now.

Khon Khim

So this little kid is just that, haha, he's only like 11 but he sits through the lesson and answers all of our questions like a champ. Even though he answers wrong 50% of the time haha. He's still so eager to learn and we're really hoping we can reach out to his grandparents and his mom to become active in the church again! We invited them to read the Book of Mormon with each other EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. And so far they have succeeded. One night strong, because we barely committed them to do it last night. Hopefully we can baptize him the same day as Bong Heng.

Bong Kolra

What a beast haha. He used to be a boxer but he didn't earn enough money for the amount of pain that is involved so now he fixes TV's and pretty much all little things electric. Anyways, we have a plan to run with him every morning that we don't have lessons, which is always so fun because he's also just super funny. He also is just trying to quite drinking beer. He has stopped for 6 days now, which is super lit! I have really high hopes for him and I hope he can keep overcoming his trial so he can get baptized in the new year. Sadly, by then I will most likely be gone, like a 95% chance because I've already been in Pochentong for 5 months now (This is my 4th transfer)

Anyways, that's all I have time for as now I am preparing for Mission Leader Council this Wednesday.

I love all of you guys so much and hope you have a great week. God loves you!!!!!!!!

    2. Hi Michael,
We read and enjoy most all of your correspondence and posts. You are an incredible missionary and we can see that you're having the time of your life, while loving the people there. This is not to say that we believe it's all as easy as you make it look. :)....We're sure it's a very tough mission. we hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Know that you and the people are in our prayers.

    3. Elder Acton, as always it is so uplifting to read about your mission. It is evident that you have learned to love the people you are serving. I was listening to Christmas music as I read your post. I was so touched with the spirit and moved to tears as I read about the friends you are working with. They are so blessed to have such a seasoned missionary to guide their learning back to our Savior Jesus Christ. Today is your nephew Chirs' birthday, so I have been in a very tender place any way. I am so thankful for my family and for the love we share. We have been so blessed to have the light of Christ in our homes and to be reassured of being able to live with all of our loved ones who have gone on before us. One of my new favorite scriptures is all of D&C 128, but especially verse 22. "Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, and on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praises to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free."
I love you so much and am so Thankful to have such an amazing grandson. Keep on Keeping on.
