White Christmas?!?
HO HO HO
MERRY CHRISTMAS
This week was super neat and super hard as well in some ways. Tuesday was pretty normal tbh and I'm mainly gonna focus on Wednesday
So Wednesday we had what is called MLC which a mission leader council. I got super blessed with it because it was my first MLC and also the first MLC they have done a field trip. We went down to the genocidal museum which was quite interesting and crazy to be at. We also then read some of the Book of Mormon that hyped us all up to take what we learned and better ourselves with the new found motivation.
What happened to the Khmer people is just super crazy and it puts things in perspective as well. Any time I'm tired or wanting to slack off even the tiniest bit I just think of what happened to them and it gives me a boost of energy because at least I've got freedom and all of the people around me aren't being beat to death or smashed against trees and worse stuff as well. So when I feel discouraged I try to take a deep breath and realize that I've got it quite good here in this life and then I try to move on. Y'all should take a look at the pictures from the museum because it is quite eye opening.
Any way later that night I guess I was being tested because all our English 2 class students flaked out on me. One was just too far, one didn't want to come because it sprinkled a little rain, and one because he had already promised his friends he was going to drink with them. Literally so sad and really affected me because we've been working with him so long and he hadn't drank with his friends for a week already and we were so excited but then his friends tempted him once and he respected them more than us which is sad. Especially when he has shared many times that those friends only contact him when they want to drink. He's told us that we are real friends because we show up all the time, but he still hasn't quite got the courage to disappoint his drinking friends for us yet which is really sad. So that night we biked home super fast because we were distraught and then we did a work out at home as well instead of eating dinner because I had to release those feelings of sadness some way. Low key though the work out didn't do it all so I had to read the Book of Mormon for like 30 minutes as well to help. Anyway that was that story.
We have two nek reans (teaching friends) that have been interviewed and are going to get baptized this next Sunday with probably like 6 more people from our ward but with the other Elders who live in our house and the Sisters as well. So all together it'll be like 8 people I think.
Anyway we had a super lit ward soccer game again and also had a super lit ward meal as well on Sunday and then today (Monday) we went to the Zoo as a district, which was really fun but it was also really eerie because it's built for at least 500 customers but there was prolly only like 30 people there all together. I think there were more employees than there were customers. Still super lit though and I got to hold a tiger so that's lit! And an elephant popped balloons around my body as I was blindfolded as well.
Last thing is I know God loves all of you individually. Also y'all should go do baptisms at the temple for your family members that have died without the opportunity of being baptized! If you do, please take a picture of all the names you do and send them to me! We are wanting a white Christmas over here in Cambodia and the only way that's possible since there is no snow and a serious lack of white people is through baptisms, people being in their temple whites or getting baptized for themselves. Nonetheless, please help us out by going to the temple!
Love Elder Acton or aka littler big brother of the one and only interception holder, on the bulldog side, at the state game JOSEPH ACTON😃
Love all of y'all💗
