Catch Up

Okay y'all it's been a while since I shared a weekly so I'm sorry. Just know that I'm doing great and I absolutely love it here!

If people ever ask about me, you can tell them that this has been so far the most life changing and eye opening experience I've ever had in my life. It is so interesting to have this new perspective on life and it is also so refreshing to know that I don't need movies or relax time or games or other entertainment things in my life to feely happy. Truly, everlasting happiness is found in and through Jesus Christ and no one or nothing else. I've been the most busy here on the mission than anywhere else and I've also had the most joyous times in my life out here on my mission.

To tell you the truth, I don't really want to go back to regular life. The absolute comfort of knowing my one goal or purpose in life as a missionary is to bring others closer to Christ is so fulfilling that it makes it difficult to want to go back and get a job and move on with my life.

It is wisdom from the Lord though that we only serve two years so we can go back and prepare ourselves to have and raise a family.

FAMILY IS CENTRAL TO GOD'S PLAN!

Okay, so update, I'm back in the city of Phnom Penh and wow, is it different than the country side. People are more like modern, and hat to say it but just I feel less Khmer. Meaning they're less inviting and a little less accepting of us missionaries. But WAY better than America. It's sad to hear about other missions in America where when they meet other Christians they just hate on our church and bible bash the missionaries (doesn't seem very Christlike to me.) Here, 90% of the time when we meet with other Christians that are Khmer they are so happy to talk of Jesus Christ with us even if some of them have differences.

Also, if people ask about what my mission looks like, you can say it's very diverse here. In the city there's not much service opportunities but out in the country side I was a rice farmer, a lotus farmer, a bamboo lumberjack, a fish catcher, a dirt hauler, a biscuit maker, a house maid, a fence repairer, a can and water bottle collector, and a sower (of bags full of cans and metal not of seed) sorry if that doesn't make sense but what I want to say is either place is very busy. Country side is very physically busy, city I'm always calling and trying to meet with people who have expressed interest through their phone. And wholly smokes! No one's locations are right so I'm trying to fix all that so the next Elders in this area can know where to go.

Wow, pretty long already, looks like I should wrap it up. To come back to what I started off with, I love my family and my home town BUT I'm sealed with my family. I know I will go back and live with them and I will live with them in Heaven as well. But the people here, when I leave I don't know if that's the last time I'm ever going to see them. So quite frankly, I don't want to leave them and I want to stay. But I know that isn't the Lord's plan, I need to move on with my life after I finish.

And I'm just reminded of 2 Nephi 2: 11, 25

"11 For it must need be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherfore, al things must need be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.

25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy."

I invite all of you to study chapter 2 because man, does it just lay down the answers to so many questions! Besides, what do you lose for reading one chapter? Maybe 30 minutes of time that might have already been wasted scrolling on facebook or tik tok.

EVERYONE HAS TIME FOR THE LORD

Trust Him and maybe just try it out and see. Literally have got nothing to lose and everything to gain if you just read with true/pure intent.

Lastly, I love every single one of you and I know God and Jesus Christ do too! Press forward with faith.

peace out 🙏

P.S. (Faith has two parts)

1. BELIEVING

2. ACTING
