Miracles and Mourning

Image
Hello everyone! I'll start with the miracles this time cause I feel they didn't get equal time last week cause I ran out of time to write my email. There aren't a ton of big ones but just restating the older ones. David got baptized this last week on Sunday and Elder Little, my comp, is the one that baptized him and I was the one that baptized June, the other 20 year old guy. There is a huge lack of priesthood in the area of Cambodia, so it really is an amazing miracle that we have two future strong priesthood holders get baptized. Both are receiving the priesthood this next week and also going to get their temple recommends as well so they can be ready for when the temple is opened. That Sunday (yesterday) was so busy!!!! Right after the baptism we met a new referral whose a lit college student and seems really interested. And the second is a guy who is incredibly interested but also told us he is gay. So another son of God that needs saving just like the rest of us! I kno...

Heyyo guys, I'm trying to be better at these so here we go! This week was a bit of a downer week to start off but man it really turned around at the end, I'll tell you what! Okay, so first off I'll tell the story of the Korean church here😆so we are helping this ming and bong (aunt aged woman and like someone the same age as me) clear the vines from off their house and we were cleaning all the trash from the yard as well. This house that they have is more like a metal shack. But anyway, they haven't lived there for like 10 years but now they want to have a little shop so we were helping them clean it. But. . . it is right in front of a Korean Christian church school. Who ofc hates us because we are members of our Church, what a classic, another Christian Church that hates us😆 Anyway so a guy came out and asked us what we were doing and why we were cleaning this place so we told him. Then he goes on a little schpiel that it's the churches land. Anyway, this last wee...

One Year Already?!?!

Hey guys sorry again that it's been ages! So much has happened and don't worry miracles have not ceased. . . they've actually been multiplying!!! Sad news, I'm out of Sihanoukville. As of now that is my all time favorite place that I have served. It is so beautiful and it's the place where I was finally able to be more of the missionary that I want to be. Before I was low key slacking in the morning a bit and not being as effective and efficient. But after a great comp, Elder Olsen, and then another great hard worker, Elder Chong, I'm all set up and ready to go. It was honestly just such a blessing to be in an area where they are just so dependent on you. I don't mean that in a weird way but it forced me to be 150% into the work at every second of the day. Which means I prayed more and served the people way more than I had before. Resulting in me loving the people that much more. Truly if you're struggling to love someone SERVE THEM, you will find the l...

Wow guys either I'm a bad missionary or I'm getting lost in the the work because I'm having a hard time remembering what happens from week to week. I think I should prioritize journaling more because I haven't done that for the whole time I've been in Sihanoukville! Oops. It's just lower on the totem pole than like eating and recording the day on preach my gospel, haha. And having a second to think to myself oh and texting my teaching friends and calling my referrals as well. Lots of moving parts haha. The last couple weeks have flown by, I think I've entered the third week of my third transfer here in Sihanoukville. Which is a little more than 3.5 months in this area which I'm absolutely loving. It is so beautiful and I'm absolutely slammed packed with things to do. I've learned even in not developed areas you can make yourself incredibly busy. It's kinda like you choose, lots of missionaries will say it depends on the area but I think if y...
